Live Daily reports that Bob Dylan will embark on a 17-city tour of minor league ball parks starting in August. Bob Dylan's website has yet to publish any announcements or information on the tour or ticket sales. However, ticketmaster is listing two shows at this point - one in Columbus, OH and one in Lexington, KY. The first presale is slated for Thursday following the holiday weekend.

Houston Texans Season Tickets Between the 35s

Pearl Jam has added a benefit show to their summer concert run. They will play the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, OR in what will be their most intimate show of the tour. Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on Saturday morning.

Google is apparently testing an on-line advertising model that, while not new, has never been used by the beast of search engines before. The new model would mean advertisers would pay only if a certain action was completed - for example, a newsletter sign-up or a sale.
The change is intended to prevent click fraud, any of a series of actions by which advertisers are charged money for clicks that are made accidentally or with malicious intent. To this point, click fraud prevents many small ticket brokers from actually using Google as an advertising outlet because it quickly costs them too much money and the bill is too unpredictable.
A method whereby a ticket broker can more accurately predict the cost associated with each Google generated ad and guarantee they don't pay unless a sale is made will allow them calculate costs into the price they must charge for a ticket.

We have just learned that as of yesterday afternoon Redskins season tickets are available for purchase through the Redskins ticket office. The seats are obstructed view, but many believe demand will be just as high this year as it was last year, allowing for the opportunity to get rid of all games.
There is a trick to getting them if you are out of state. Because the Redskins do not want people seeing the seats on opening day and then cancelling because of the obstructed view, they will tell you that you must go to the stadium to see the seats. However, depending on whom you speak to, you may be able to get that requirement waived by offering to fax a letter waiving your right to cancellation.
Even if it is a break even proposition this year, you can work your magic to upgrade next year. And if the 'Skins make the playoffs again and have a home game or two, you're golden.

For months now, brokers have been picking and choosing well priced premium seat auctions, paying well over the minimum bid price (usually face value of nearby seats), then turning around and flipping them on eBay or Stubhub for an even higher mark-up.
That the actual consumers who use the tickets do not consider this outlet for buying tickets either means they are really clueless about how to get seats on the primary market, or Ticketmaster just isn't doing a very good job of selling their newest product.
While the appearance of the page before the facelift did make it a bit difficult to see the auctions, that may not be the only problem. In a world where people are used to being able to place a bid and try to win an auction, then move on to the next one if they lose, many consumers may be wary of potentially getting worse seats through the ticketmaster auction if they are outbid. Ticketmaster is essentially asking them to commit money to a product of which they cannot be certain of the quality.
Either way, for the time being, there are still a lot of tickets going for UNDER market value through these auctions, so keep your eyes peeled!

John Mayer and Sheryl Crow have combined for a total of 33 million albums, 12 Grammy Awards and countless contemporary song-writing classics. This summer and fall, they will join forces for a 27-city tour across North America.
The tour will be produced by Live Nation and will kick off on August 24th at Pittsburgh's Post-Gazette Pavilion. It culminates on October 12th at Tampa, Florida's Ford Amphitheatre. Eight select dates go on-sale to the public on June 24th with the reminder going on-sale July 15th.

INXS Stubhub Auction Update
Last week we reported on an apparent auction disaster for the INXS show in Santa Barbara - the first concert to have every ticket auctioned off. (scroll down to see the article.)

On-line Ticket Auction Industry Taking a Blow?
The latest experiment in on-line ticket auctioneering may prove, at least in the early stages, to be unfruitful.
Stubhub's latest experiment - attempting to auction off all 650 tickets to the INXS concert at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA. - is yielding ticket prices that make eBay look high class.
As you can see here, with just three days left, most of the ticket prices are laughable and would barely cover janitor's fees for the show, let alone paying the band.
So, independent and corporate ticket brokers who are nervous about the widespread application of this idea of auctioning off every seat in a show can celebrate now, right?
Well, not quite. At best, we'll have to wait and see if prices take off the day the auctions end. (Most end Tuesday for those of you interested in seeing how it turns out.) Then we will have a better idea of whether the problem is related to the format of the ticket sales or if it is something else.
Imagine if this format had been used for a different band in a different venue - say Cream at Madison Square Garden. A band that people want to see in a venue people love in a city where there is a lot of "entertainment cash" floating around.
Compare that to what Stubhub used to kick off their "All-Auction Ticket" campaign. INXS, a band whose secondary market tickets have lower demand than VCRs, in Santa Barbara, where the Bowl is the only place people want to see shows, on a Wednesday night.
It does not seem to make a whole of sense to test how much people would be willing to pay on an event that few people would go to for free. But it also didn't make much sense for Stubhub to try make money selling tickets without ever buying any - and we all know how well that worked.

Eric Clapton Presales are coming up, but that is about all we know for sure. Few details have been announced despite the fact that public on-sales for at least three different Eric Clapton concerts are happening on Saturday.
Here is what we know so far.
There will be fan club presale tickets available. The fan club has stated that they will provide tickets only for select cities. No details on this have been confirmed, but based on the format for the European dates, it seems likely that you will receive a unique passcode that can be used on Ticketmaster to purchase a limited number of tickets.
There will most likely be American Express presales for some cities. These presales will require that you use an American Express card to pay for the presale tickets. The presale password for these sales will be AMEX or the 800 number on the back of your card.
Other Eric Clapton Presales. We have received no other information on Eric Clapton presales at this time. We will update this blog as soon as we do though, so to ensure that you get instant access, please subscribe to one of our feeds to the right.

No details on this have been confirmed, but based on the format for the European dates, it seems likely that you will receive a unique passcode that can be used on Ticketmaster to purchase a limited number of tickets.
There will most likely be American Express presales for some cities. These presales will require that you use an American Express card to pay for the presale tickets. The presale password for these sales will be AMEX or the 800 number on the back of your card.

Eric Clapton fan club presales happened at the same time as the public on sale for the first couple of shows. The presales indeed went on through ticketmaster.com and each presale code entitles you to two tickets for the entire tour. Today, Amex will sponsor a presale for the Madison Square Garden shows with the fan club and public sales coming later this week. Good luck.
