In an apparent effort to prevent people from guessing passwords to access playoff ticket presales, the Yankees and Ticketmaster are using a combination of letters, based off customer names, and numbers to create unique password identifiers.
For example, if your name was Sal Fasano, you would not only be sporting a gorgeous 1980's porn-star-style mustache, you also might have a Yankee presale password that looked something like this: FASA4205 or FASA9603.
We congratulate the Yankees and Ticketmaster for teaming up to make this presale ticketing system for the 2006 postseason more secure. Way to go guys. The world will thank you on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. when Yankee playoff tickets go on presale.

Unless you have a full or partial plan, or have a plan holders password, you have to wait for the regular onsale.
