The Bob Dylan iTunes presales going on this week (Continental Arena in East Rutherford and Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA are two of them happening on Wednesday), you need to preorder Dylan's latest album off iTunes. When you do you will get a unique presale code that will give you access to tickets. Because weach password is randomly generated when you purchase the download, there is no generic code that we can all use...there is no way around paying for this one (unless someone else pays for one and does not use it.)

Playoff Presale Ticket Info Coming Up
It is a slow week this week, but we do expect to start getting information on playoff ticket presales for MLB teams soon. Most teams have mailed invoices out to season ticket holders and partial plan holders that are eligible for playoff presale tickets.
Playoff presales are typically open only to plan holder and season ticket holders, but ocassionally, there will a playoff presale that just uses a generic password that anyone can use. We will keep an eye out for those so we can help you get playoff tickets for what Major League Baseball team you seek them for.
At this point, it looks like the only lock for the playoffs are the New York Mets who are already below 20 for their magic number and just keep winning. Other teams that control their own destiny are the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees. The Oakland A's have a slim lead, but one that will get them into the playoffs if they can maintain it. Ditto for the St. Louis Cardinals. After that, it is a toss up.
The White Sox were in good position for the A.L. wild card until the Minnesota Twins caught fire. Now they, along with the Boston Red Sox, just may find themselves on the outside looking in. The Red Sox have one more shot to make up some ground on the Yankees. When the two teams play in September, tickets will be just as hard to get as playoff tickets.
The N.L. Wild Card is also anyone's game. The Giants appeared out of it, but are now charging hard. We may find a team like the Colorado Rockies selling playoff tickets for the first time ever! Start liquidating inventory! MLB teams have begun to send out playoff invoices, which are undoubtedly being met with shock due to the large price increases.
To give you a couple of examples, the Mets were kind enough to list all of their prices by section and we've listed them below. The first number is the price per ticket for the Divisonal Series, the second is the NLCS and the third is the World Series.

All other Club: $135, 190, 300
Inner Baseline, Field and Loge Box; Middle Field Box; Outer Baseline Box: $100, 150, 250

A couple of shocking items we notice (take a look at the Shea Stadium seating chart while you compare prices.) :
Tickets for Upper Reserve 49 or 50 cost the same as Mezzanine 17, for example.
You can get into Loge Box 16 for the same price as the last Upper Box seats by UR 49 or 50.
The cheapest ticket for a potential World Series game at Shea Stadium is $150.
Quite a hike indeed.

Comparison Shopping Site for Sports Tickets
We recently came across a site that allows you to do comparison shopping for sports tickets. It appears to be a site geared toward helping consumers get the lowest price possible, but could also be useful for ticket sellers to see how low they have to go to be lowest on the internet.
The site is seatsmart.com and right now, they only have Stubhub and Razorgator listings up, but it looks like they are going to add more including eBay. Sites like this will be interesting to keep an eye on because they really put more power into the hands of consumers by making price comparison easy to pull off.

Just wondering if you know how strict ticketmaster is with posted ticket limits for internet ticket sales. How likely is it that they will cancel your orders (if you purchase over the limit) and if they do will they cancel all of your order of just the number of tickets you are over the limit? Will they cancel e-tickets that they have already emailed. And how and when would a person know their order has been cancelled.

Our lawyer won't let us answer except for the last part: If your order is cancelled for being over the limit, the only way to know for sure is to check your ticketmaster order history. It will say "This order has been cancelled" where it usually says "Your tickets have been printed and shipped." Over-the-limit cancellations have never been accompanied by a phone call or e-mail in our experience.
