It is a slow week this week, but we do expect to start getting information on playoff ticket presales for MLB teams soon. Most teams have mailed invoices out to season ticket holders and partial plan holders that are eligible for playoff presale tickets.
Playoff presales are typically open only to plan holder and season ticket holders, but ocassionally, there will a playoff presale that just uses a generic password that anyone can use. We will keep an eye out for those so we can help you get playoff tickets for what Major League Baseball team you seek them for.
At this point, it looks like the only lock for the playoffs are the New York Mets who are already below 20 for their magic number and just keep winning. Other teams that control their own destiny are the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees. The Oakland A's have a slim lead, but one that will get them into the playoffs if they can maintain it. Ditto for the St. Louis Cardinals. After that, it is a toss up.
The White Sox were in good position for the A.L. wild card until the Minnesota Twins caught fire. Now they, along with the Boston Red Sox, just may find themselves on the outside looking in. The Red Sox have one more shot to make up some ground on the Yankees. When the two teams play in September, tickets will be just as hard to get as playoff tickets.
The N.L. Wild Card is also anyone's game. The Giants appeared out of it, but are now charging hard. We may find a team like the Colorado Rockies selling playoff tickets for the first time ever! It will definitely be an exciting finish as the pennant race winds down. You can check the MLB wild card standings here.
