Eric Clapton Presales

Eric Clapton Presales are coming up, but that is about all we know for sure. Few details have been announced despite the fact that public on-sales for at least three different Eric Clapton concerts are happening on Saturday.

Here is what we know so far.

There will be fan club presale tickets available. The fan club has stated that they will provide tickets only for select cities. No details on this have been confirmed, but based on the format for the European dates, it seems likely that you will receive a unique passcode that can be used on Ticketmaster to purchase a limited number of tickets.

There will most likely be American Express presales for some cities. These presales will require that you use an American Express card to pay for the presale tickets. The presale password for these sales will be AMEX or the 800 number on the back of your card.

Other Eric Clapton Presales. We have received no other information on Eric Clapton presales at this time. We will update this blog as soon as we do though, so to ensure that you get instant access, please subscribe to one of our feeds to the right.

UPDATE: Eric Clapton Presale for Savvis Center
The Savvis Center has published an online order form for presale tickets to the Clapton show at their venue. You can download, print and fax it from this link.

UPDATE:
Eric Clapton fan club presales happened at the same time as the public on sale for the first couple of shows. The presales indeed went on through ticketmaster.com and each presale code entitles you to two tickets for the entire tour. Today, Amex will sponsor a presale for the Madison Square Garden shows with the fan club and public sales coming later this week. Good luck.

Nelson, This is a very important question because answering it helps us decide when, or more importantly, from whom to buy our tickets.

To clear things up a little bit, let me explain that, for our purposes, WHEN a presale happens has little to do with what tickets are available during that presale. When a show is planned, the promoters, artist and venue sit down and divvy up the seats each party will get. Once this is decided. That means that whether the fan club sells their tickets tomorrow, next week or the day before the show, the locations will be the same.

Ditto for Amex presales and other presales as well.

For these Clapton sales, there is a possibility that the Rangers and Knicks and Backstage Access will have presales. There is also a good chance Amex will too. But their presales will not affect the seat locations available to fan club members.

I hope that helps.

We wouldn't recommend getting season tickets as a way of getting tickets for concerts...there are better ways to get concert tickets. Most fan clubs will get better seats, but there is no cut and dry answer to your question. Fan clubs usually get the best of the best, but also get seats in the nosebleeds.

If the season tickets are a good investment or at least a close to break-even deal, then it might be worth it to do it. However, getting the extra concert seats should never be the reason to get seasons...especially with the Knicks and Rangers as the passwords are usually generic.

Also, be sure that the seats you order for seasons really come with the same tickets for concerts. It is rare that you get the same seats for concerts - in fact, I have only heard of that being the case for club seat holders.

This may be a good time to get in on a good set of Knicks season tickets as everyone is dropping their accounts. Be weary though as you will probably still lose money for a couple of years. The Knicks have long-term contract issues that far exceed their ability to cope.
