Dallas Cowboys get 2011 Super Bowl
The Dallas Cowboys were awarded the Super Bowl and will host it in 2011. A major factor in the NFL's decision to award the Super Bowl to Dallas rather than contenders Indianapolis and Phoenix was the fact that the Cowboys new stadium will seat over 100,000 people and up to 110,000 for the Super Bowl once they add big screens in seating sections at either end zone.
Fans Smash the Orange Peel Website
Update: Tickets will go on sale at 7 p.m. tonight through Ticketmaster.com. Click the link below to get there. Also, despite tickets going on sale for San Francisco on Saturday, the event is still not up on Stubhub. They may not do the event because it was will call only, but they have created this page for the Pumpkins, so it remains to be seen.
The Orange Peel, host to an 8-night run of Smashing Pumpkins shows slated for June got a taste of the big time today when it tried putting tickets on sale for the shows. Demand was so high that it crashed the servers and tickets never made it to consumers.
In the end, they have punted. They are going to let Ticketmaster handle ticketing for the event. Dates are up on ticketmaster for the shows, but no new sale time has been announced. Tickets will go on sale here so keep checking for an announcement of the new on sale date.

A Note to Our Readers
Hey folks. We are writing because we would like to reach out to our regular readers to point out the value of a great tool Google has provided us with. To be sure, we have made an announcement about the addition of the keyword-based news articles that we would be featuring in our right hand navigation column.
When we originally made the announcement, we didn't realize how good the tool was.
Kudos again to Google for having great search technology.
If you had been following the news articles, you would know that Prince tickets in London are selling at an insane clip; that NFL games oversees ARE indeed a hot ticket; that St. Louis is about to repeal its anti-resale laws DESPITE the fact that they were one of the toughest states on resale just a couple of months ago; that before long, tickets, especially for MLB, will be invisible and that the Jazz are a hot ticket again, for the first time since Stockton-Malone.
Should you be clicking the keyword targeted search links to get your daily dose of ticketing news? Well, I guess it depends on if you want to be GOOD or not.
If you have other keywords you would like to suggest, just e-mail tickethorde@gmail.com.

Roger Clemens, it was announced today, will likely make his first start on Friday for Class A Tampa. Tickets for that event are will call only at this point for reasons related to ticket shipping. The New York Rangers will have a playoff ticket presale Monday morning at 9 a.m. We are checking our facts and will have more details on this opporunity posted here sometime Saturday. The public sale for Rangers playoff tickets is Tuesday at noon.
UPDATE: Ok, mostly bad news with a bit of good. Bad news is that it is a season ticket holder only presale with each account number getting access to just four tickets. More bad news is there probably won't be a whole lot left for the public sale.
The bit of good news is that one of our advertising partners is offering their Rangers playoff tickets for face value. Get the details here. The inside scoop is that they will be doing this several times throughout the Rangers playoff run. Good luck.

Los Angeles Lakers Playoff Ticket Presale
You have reached an outdated page. For more current Lakers presale info, please click here.
The Los Angeles Lakers presale that started today is for season ticket holders only. You have to be a season ticket holder to access it. The Lakers control this by making your season ticket account number your password and each one can only be used for a certain number of tickets. If you want Lakers tickets, you can try again on Saturday or check Stubhub for season ticket holders who are selling their extras.
All 16 of the Lakers home games will go on sale at the same time and you may purchase up to 4 tickets per game. There appears to be no per game limit, but tickets will probably sell out before you can get to too many games. If a game you buy is not played, you lose your service fees, so choose wisely.

Watch the Weather for Great Baseball Tickets
Want to turn a bad weather baseball game ticket into a good weather baseball game ticket? Keep an eye on the weather for some really cheap seats. It's sometimes a bit hard to get into warm weather games even if it is not against a really high quality opponent. But if that game is a make up from earlier in the year, it could be very cheap.
Take the Yankees rain out against the Devil Rays last Wednesday for instance. The Devil Rays will never draw based on their presence alone, but for a sunny day game on a Saturday in July, you could find yourself paying around face. UNLESS you get the tickets right when the rainout is announced! A lot of tickets were available for between 1-5 dollars each the morning of the game on Stubhub and there were some really good seats going for around their season ticket face value price.
You have to be organized to pull this off, but it can be done. If you are tracking the weather for New York teams, try the 1010wins.com website - they are usually a lot quicker at announcing rainouts than the teams themselves.

New Features Added to Ticket Horde Blog
Hey Everyone,
We just wanted to let you know about new additions to the Ticket Horde blog. First, if you look near the top of the right-hand navigation bar, you will see a list of news stories. These stories are current ones pulled from the depths of Google on various topics, including "concert tickets" "sports tickets" "ticket brokers" and more.
By clicking the links right below the title "Ticket News Items," you can get a list based on the keyword you clicked. Use them to catch wind of big announcements and keep up with news, trends and more. Today, for example, there is a nice little story about demand for Cubs tickets and one more about WNBA tickets going on sale. If you click on the "related articles" link below the snippet, you will get a list of other stuff from Google news. Neat little tool Google has set up for us.
If you would like any new news categories, please let us know. We will not add just anything, but we would appreciate your suggestions.
In addition, we have added ticket-related video to the blog. We are not sure if these videos will be useful or not, but we are willing to give them a shot for a while. To see them, scroo down a bit below the newsreel to see a four screen mini-preview. Click one video screen then scroll back up to the top to watch the video.
That's all for now! As always, thanks for reading.
