We will start to see more and more NHL and NBA playoff tickets going on sale over the next couple weeks. One way to get in on them is to put down a deposit for season tickets for next season. Another way is through free presale passwords. We will cover as many passwords as we get, but you may want to start taking a look at teams you want to buy for this weekend. The Mighty Ducks, for example just started to offer playoff tickets in exchange for full season tickets for next year.
One thing the NBA and the NHL have in common in regard to playoff tickets is that many of them are available below face value for the first and sometimes second round. This is not always the case, of course, but for a majority of teams, tickets do not go over face value until round three or later. The Sabres were an exception last season. The Rangers will always be an exception. But the point is, if your target is not going to go deep in the playoffs, you might want to just wait and buy your playoff tickets below face value near the end of the season.
