Location, Location, Location. It all depends on what seats you pull.
This is just our thinking, but we'll deal with the ones going on sale this week:
The Bills are attractive because their lower level seats are very cheap compared to other NFL teams and only a few dollars more than their uppers. But their market has been a bit flooded in the past couple years because they make it so easy to get good group tickets. Still, if they start off hot this year, hold and sell sellers will be rewarded.
Browns tickets and Titans tickets have had better demand recently than the Bills but good tickets will be tough to get for the Titans and they may put residency restrictions on sales this year. The Browns have a loyal following too, so, again, if they come out hot this season, they may win back some of their fans who have decided to go see a winning team in Cincinnati recently. They seem to have had better season ticket availability this year than in recent years, so it may be a sign of overall weakened demand. I believe you can still get season tickets through them.
Each strategy has advantages.
Season tickets will get you better locations, but you have to buy all games.
Big matchups tend to sell regardless of location, but profit margins will be small on the types of locations left in the public sale.
Some people will never buy tickets during the public sale and some will people will never invest in a full season package...both methods can work if you respect the method.
Just wanted to thank you for your help with these questions. All advice is helpful. Did you think of getting a message board going on this site?
We do have a chat room that will allow you to talk with other users. Download the toolbar at http://ticket.ourtoolbar.com and click the speech bubble between the Market Demand Checker and the "Ticket Horde" RSS feed reader.
I did that as soon as it became available and I love it...the chat room is dead as of yet.
Yes, it needs a little push. We are working on organizing something in the next week or so to liven it up. Thanks for you enthusiasm about the site!
