Seattle Seahawks Playoff Tickets

Seattle Seahawks playoff tickets will go on sale Tuesday Jan. 2 through Ticketmaster.com, at Ticketmaster outlets and over the phones. Tickets will not be available at the Qwest Field box office.

The Seattle Seahawks are headed to the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. Here’s the information you need to prepare for the NFL Playoffs.

The Seahawks will host a Wild Card playoff game followed by a potential NFC Championship game because they have won the NFC West but do not have one of the top two records amongst NFC divisional winners.

The Divisional playoff game will be played in Seattle at Qwest Field on either Saturday, January 6th or Sunday, January 7th. The NFC Championship game is scheduled for Sunday January 21, 2007.

De la Hoya Mayweather Fight to be at MGM Grand

Update: Ticket Mayweather-de la Hoya ticket on sale date has been announced.

The Oscar de la Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather fight will take place at MGM Grand according to de la Haya's promotional company Golden Boy Promotions. The fight will take place on May 5. Previously, they had announced the fight would either be at MGM Grand or Staples Center in Los Angeles.

On-sale information for this championship title fight will be announced in the near future by Goldenboy. Ticket prices will include tickets at the following levels: $2,000, $1,500, $1,000, $750 and $350. Bears Playoff Tickets On Sale Soon

Chicago Bears playoff tickets will go on sale December 14, 2006 to the general public. Ticketmaster will host the sale for the Bears guaranteed home playoff game - either an NFC wild card or divisional playoff showdown - at 10 a.m. Dec. 14.

Approximately 6,000 or so seats - a mere 10 percent of Soldier Field's capacity - will be released.

Bears playoff tickets will run from $95 for end-zone seats to $375 for the best of the club seats for the first game. Ticket sales will be limited to people with credit card mailing addresses in Illinois and northwest Indiana only. Orders from outside that area will be canceled without notice by Ticketmaster.

Red Sox Spring Training Tickets Update

The Naples (FL) News reported earlier this week that Red Sox Spring Training tickets still remain for 16 of the 17 Red Sox home games. (Kudos if you can guess the game that is not sold out!)

Red Sox spring training tickets usually sell out pretty fast, but the Sox have apparently suceeded in letting supply exceed demand. New seating options in right field have apparently provided enough tickets that they only have one sellout so far but still sold 16% more tickets than on the first day of sales last spring.

Extra seating additions still have not outstripped demand for tickets to Fenway Park games though, so get ready - that's coming up this weekend!

Due to the growing popularity of on-line secondary ticket markets, the interest in domain names with team names in them have also become popular. But, buyer beware: Teams can rip those domains right from you if they are "confusingly similar" to the team's name.

A firm that handles arbitration in this type of dispute was recently quoted as saying the Yankees recently won a case over the rights to the domain nyyankees.com. The domain used to contain third-party links to ticket reseller websites, but now redirects to yankees.com.

Boise State Broncos Fiesta Bowl Tickets

The following is information on the Boise State allotment of Fiesta Bowl tickets.

All season ticket holders will get the opportunity to purchase the number of season tickets that they purchased for the regular season. Oklahoma Sooners Fiesta Bowl tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. The Sooners will face Boise State in the Feista Bowl on Jan. 1, 2007 at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Florida Gators Tickets for BCS National Championship Game

As we probably all know by now, the University of Florida has earned the BCS National Championship Game bid and will Ohio State University on January 8 at the University of Phoenix Field in Glendale. Florida edged Michigan by the narrowest of margins to get the #2 slot.

Gators tickets for the BCS National Championship Game will go on sale tonight at 9 p.m. EST. Tickets are being offered to boosters only. The Gators have made no statement indicating any availability for the general public.

BCS National Championship Game Up in the Air

Yesterday's BCS shake-up has cast a shadow of uncertainty on the BCS National Championship Game picture. While some fans in Southern California had already purchased tickets to see their USC Trojans take on Ohio State, UCLA indeed stood in the way. Now the Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines will await the announcement tonight during selection Sunday.

Ohio State is currently number 1 and was idle. Michigan, the #3 team was also idle. Number 2 USC lost to UCLA so it out of the hunt. #4 Florida defeated Arkansas for the SEC Championship. The debate this morning is over who should get the number two slot. Many from the midwest want to see Michigan and Ohio State have a rematch of the Big 10 Championship game in Glendale, but most national commentators think Michigan already lost their chance. They would prefer to see Florida in the BCS National Championship Game.

The announcement will come on the Selection Sunday show on CBS, which starts at 8 p.m. tonight. The affect on ticket prices thus far has apparently been minimal according to the SeatSmart blog. We doubt that will last.

A man who attempted to presell but failed to deliver Ohio State Michigan football tickets in 2005, was sentenced to 2 years, 10 months in prison.

Mark West, who sold the tickets through an on-line auction site, was convicted of theft and fraud for bilking 250 customers who bought tickets to the game at Michigan.

West, 54, has spent 11 months in jail and will remain there another 23 months. He is also required to pay $162,909 to those who bought the tickets.

Red Sox Spring Training Tickets Go Fast

More than 31,000 Boston Red Sox Spring training tickets were sold today for games at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers.

Tickets for games against the New York Yankees went within an hour and a half, according to Gordon Lowe, Red Sox spring training ticket manager.

Tickets for the Cincinnatti Reds, New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers also sold quickly. Fans purchased tickets on line, at the ball park, and over the phone. Some Fort Myers faithful waited from 7 p.m. Friday, encamped in front of the City of Palms Park box office.

Spring training begins Feb. 28, when the Red Sox play the Minnesota Twins at 7:05 p.m.

It’s unclear how many tickets are still available, but Lowe will apparently release that number, along with the number of people who bought tickets, on Sunday.

The box office will be open again for ticket sales from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday if you would like to purchase tickets there. You can also purchase tickets starting now by browsing inventory here.

Yankees Ticket Prices Increasing for Box Seats

Yankees ticket prices for Box seats will be increasing by $40 each for season tickets and will nearly triple for individual game sales if any are available. The announcement came as part of the following press release today:

Yankees ticket prices are paying the price for having to support baseball's highest payroll, according to the original story.

The price of the box seats closest to the field at Yankee Stadium will jump by $40 to $150 next season, the team said Friday.

Those seats, which are going up 36 percent in price, are for the first four rows in the areas nearest to home plate and are sold as part of season-ticket plans. In the unlikely event any of those seats are available for sale for individual games, they would be priced at $300 in advance and $400 on days of games.

In 2005, New York charged $90 for all field championship seats. The Yankees switched to variable pricing in 2006, charging $95-$110, depending on row and location. Next season's range runs from $115 to $150.

At the lower end, other box seats without waiter service will run from $35-$73 when sold as part of full season-ticket plans, $37-$78 as part of partial season-ticket plans, $40-$83 when sold for individual games in advance and $42-$88 on days of games.

Yankee ticket prices for reserved seats run from $17-$56 for full season tickets, $18-$61 for partial season tickets, $19-$66 for advance purchase for individual games and $20-$71 on days of games. Bleacher seats are $10 as part of season tickets, $12 when sold separately.

44 percent of the Yankees ticket prices, for seats in the upper deck and bleachers, will remain unchanged for the third straight season. In addition, there are many discount programs, especially for the upper deck on Monday through Thursday nights for many games in April, May and September.

LSU Bowl Game Tickets Gone

For those of you who wanted LSU Bowl Game Tickets, we hope you acted quickly today. As of 2 p.m., this announcement became official:

LSU has stopped taking post-season bowl game ticket requests, as of 2 p.m. today because the university has exceeded its allotment. More than 40,000 people have applied for Rose Bowl tickets.

LSU could also be invited to the Orange Bowl, for which 21,000 requests have been made, or the Capital One bowl, for which 17,500 requests have been made.

The Rose Bowl selection committee will make its selection following the outcome of two key BCS games on Saturday.

The BCS No. 4 Gators (11-1) could move up to No. 2 in the BCS rankings by beating BCS No. 9 Arkansas (10-2) in the Southeastern Conference championship game and if BCS No. 2 USC (10-1) loses at UCLA (6-5) on Saturday. It's also possible that Florida would bypass USC if it beats Arkansas by a large margin and if USC wins but struggles against UCLA.

This would then mean Florida would play BCS No. 1 Ohio State (12-0) in the national championship game on Jan. 8 in Phoenix, Ariz., leaving No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 USC — or vice versa on the ratings — to square off in the Rose Bowl. If that happens, No. 5 LSU (10-2) would then likely fall to the Orange Bowl in Miami or to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

2007 Allstate 400 at Brickyard Tickets On Sale Monday

Brickyard Tickets for the 14th Allstate 400, scheduled for Sunday, July 29, 2007, go on sale Monday, Dec. 4. Any fan who purchases two tickets before Christmas will have a chance to take a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.
